Hacksaw Ridge tells the true story of Desmond Doss, a soldier who refused to carry a weapon during World War II but still saved dozens of lives. I found his courage and beliefs really inspiring.
The battle scenes are intense and sometimes hard to watch because they feel very realistic. The movie does a good job showing both the violence of war and the strength of personal conviction.
Some parts felt slightly long, but overall I thought it was emotional and powerful.
